http://www.edrivereducation.com – doing great! drawing more traffic then I’d hoped for. This combined with the www.dickersondriving.com/blog is drawing ~10–20 new unique users to my parent’s driving school website daily. In the past week its converted 2 sales which isn’t bad considering the store isn’t even open yet! Not to mention its making a decent adsense income from the ~100 or so daily.

Traffic Equalizer

Looks like I found what they were using… Traffic Equalizer.

It looks to be a very very powerful tool if used correctly. I researched it in depth over the past couple days and finally made the decision to jump on it and try it out… and it was exactly what I expected and some.

The program comes with a few templates to generate websites based on keywords you define or search for through keyword databases… but the templates are basically worthless, just a good guide to set you on the right path for designing your own. TE has some bad press from a couple sites being banned from google for it… they used the default templates and made 20,000+ pages on a single site that were all the same! Of course you’ll get banned. Sites like the one I located the other day are smart, they RSS feed in content, pull in amazon.com content and items to sell, and make sure their pages are human readable and have a reasonable number of ads on them. You have to still give some kind of content on these pages! Why would google want contentless pages on their servers… they don’t. Add content and you should be better then safe using TE.

Using TE in conjunction with systems like blog and ping can get you 1000+ pages fully indexed and in google/yahoo in 2–4weeks… keep an eye out for posts here about my progress with a few sites I’m working on now.

Very Interesting Study...

Last night I stayed up till around 3AM putting together a case study on a site I found yesterday (yeah had to get up for class at 6am). They seem to be using some type of automated site generation software (that or they have put alot of time into mundane tasks of generating approximately 200x10 pages). The interesting part is they are ALL PR4+, many of the root domains PR5 and PR6.

To quickly Summarise my findings (I may post the full details but I’m not sure if I want this exact strategy getting out because it works wonders from what I’ve seen):

Each domain (~10 of them) is getting around 1000 uniques a day… 10000 uniques a day!? And get this.. 80% from google SE traffic…
Stat Tracking only dates back to Nov 2004 on their extreme tracker… most of the sites were STARTED in November (~10–20 uniques a day) and now have a PR4–6 and get over 1000 uniques a day!
4 of the sites are hosted on BLOGGING SERVERS, you know, yourname.blogger.com, blogware.com, blogharbor.com, etc… and yes 1000+ uniques a day and PR4–6
80% of traffic is from SE’s but 98% of that is from GOOGLE, yahoo, msn, etc all have some referrer logs but less then 2% total of traffic (I conclude why below)
The domain I first found, hosted on a blogging server, has a PR5, was started in Nov 2004, and has MANY top 10 keywords that cost as much as $10–20 CPC (there are a few services out there that ID the highest paying keywords, I’d say they’re a worthwhile purchase)
All the sites are product based sites, they sell something (think www.large-product-category.com) with every individual product category being located in a subdomain (think brandname.large-product-catagory.com). Here is where the SE results come in… conclusions below…
Each one of these subdomains, domains, etc have a complex linking scheme to each other resultantly listing all the pages as creditable and giving them a high PR.
Profits look to be made through Ad-Sense and Amazon affiliate program (amazon content looks like its pulled from amazon.com via PHP feed and inserted in the page based on content… and I believe I found the script used).
Looks like he uses a technique I had read about earlier yesterday where by a site can achieve high rankings for keywords by pulling the top 10/20/30 search results from yahoo/google into the page content thereby google thinks that the page is linking to relevant content and has even more relevant content and is resultantly boosted in rankings.
1 of the sites is a blog that is actually updated with public domain content it looks like.. they have catagories for virtually everything in the blog and a post or 2 per topic thats been copied and pasted in… again 1000 frig’n uniques a day… believe it…

Conclusions (what we can learn):

Google handles subdomains differently then virtually every other SE out there. Most SE’s don’t give any type of advantage for putting sub DIRs and pages in subdomains instead of simply making another dir; in fact may even blacklist or reduce ranking based on this.
Myth dispelled: Google on the other hand deals with them ‘properly’ you might say. It considers each subdomain a separate domain name despite common wisdom. (Even if they’re on the same IP)
Evidence: Google will happily show all your subdomains in SERPs yet they will only display 2 pages from one site… spammy? maybe - does it work? you betcha.
MORE evidence: ABOUT.COM – multiple subdomains ranked as separate domains/sites.
Maybe this is common knowledge in some parts of the world but it seems like a break through to me… if you can get all your sites with subdomains indexed in google (who really cares about the rest if you’re top 10 in google) then it would be child's play to make hundreds per day..
Fractal / Recursive Spamming – pulling in bare-bones results from google for the keyword targeted. You can essentially ‘spam’ a search engine with its own output as input! AND GET A VERY HIGH RANKING FOR IT!

Very, very interesting… lets put it to use … wait and see what I have cookin’ tonight!

New Blog Started - Current Projects Revealed!

Incase you stumbled here by accident, my name is Todd Dickerson. I designed my first website almost 10 years ago in middle school. Since then I've gone from running a small, but successful free-lance web development firm to creating my own online real estate empire one step at a time. I've studied online marketing for years but just recently have I decided to take it seriously and begin recording my efforts and tracking every step of the way.

I plan to use this blog to list new projects and write down my ramblings of ideas and profit making ventures. If you're so inclined this is a rare opportunity to see what I actual do online to create a great side incoming that is quickly becoming a full time income!

A couple new projects that I recently launched are:
Giovanna Online - Giovanna Online is a online retail source for Giovanna manufactured wheels. It was launched early this year and has been an on-going side project since then. My idea behind this site is to offer Giovanna, Gianelle, G-Racing, and GFG wheels below ANY other price on the internet by making this site completely automated and requiring virtually none of my time. Profit margins will be fairly small but I hope to make it up in the number of orders. But even small profits $300-500/set x 5 sets per month... a nice side income with little of my attention.

http://www.freeforumworld.com - FFW offers free PHPBB hosting, the site opened almost exactly a week ago and we have gone from 1200 page views per day to 15,000 page views yesterday! Profits from this site are made with ad revenue, currently AdSense is producing the best results but I am almost experimenting with RealTEXT, AdDynamix, and AdBrite. $.30-$.50 CPM seems to be all the site is currently pulling in through AdSense; AdDynamix is terrible @ $.15 CPM; RealTEXT looks to be ~$.02CPC and was just started today hopefully a decent CPM; AdBrite is around the $0.20-.30 CPM mark. If I can get the site to total $1.00CPM, she's currently receiving ~3000-5000 page views that display banners per day, $3-5/day, $90-$150/month after only starting the site 1 week ago... not to bad. If she can grow by that each week thats a good $500-600/month income on going from the site.

http://www.onlineloaninfo.com - Online Loan Info was started yesterday and will review various types of loans, financing options, loan companies, etc. Profits on this site are made by targeting high paying loan/financing related keywords such as ELOAN and Trans Union. Estimate profits on this site could end up being anywhere. I'm considering using Traffic Equalizer with this site... it generates a number of search engine friendly pages with actual content; its not like a number of the other tools that have existed in the past that generate bullshit pages that will get every page banned from google. Some people have been banned through T.E. but it looks like alot of them are still active (maybe its only if they're reported or do the page creation with default templates??)

O yeah, I'm also waiting for John Reese's Reese Report... if you don't know who John Reese is and you plan to market online you better find out quick! www.marketingsecerts.com is his site. At $100/month I'm expecting to hear some good things in his Reese Report... $100/month!? alot of money? maybe... but I want to know as much as I can about online marketing if that's where I plan to make money... you've got to pay to play!
